Kabuyea hostifolia is a plant belonging to the monotypic genus Kabuyea Brummitt of the Tecophilaeaceae family, endemic to Southeast Africa, Tanzania and Mozambique. It lives in cool and humid places in riverside forests. The name of the genus is to commemorate Christine HS Kabuye until 1995 A botanist at the East African Herbarium of the Kenya National Museum in Nairobi[1]
